Cyclist compensated after being hit by car

A cyclist has made a successful injury claim after he was involved in an accident resulting in him being hit by a car.

The sixty-four-year-old man from Exeter, who has not been named, was cycling his usual commute to work on Heavitree Road, Exeter, when the incident occurred.

As the Stagecoach bus driver was cycling along the road, a car suddenly came out of nowhere and cut across his path. The man hit his brakes in an attempt to avoid the collision, but was thrown over his handlebars due to the sudden stop. He struck the side of the car as he fell to the ground.

Man nearly killed after falling down flight of stairs without a handrail

cA man has made a personal injury claim after he was nearly killed falling three metres down a flight of stairs, following building work carried out in his home.

Michael Hall from Sheffield, was having refurbishment work done in his house by local builder Robin Atherton, trading as Mack Construction. Mr Hall, who ran his own car business, fell from the top of a new staircase that had been left without a handrail.

Mr Hall suffered severe injuries that were extremely life threatening and have therefore made a huge impact on his life, which is why the injury claim was made.

Railway worker compensated after part amputation of thumb

A railway worker has made a work injury claim after lack of safety equipment resulted in him having part of his thumb amputated.

Forty-one-year-old Darren Skelton from Wakefield, in Yorkshire was working for Northern Rail as a supervisor driver at the time of the accident.

The railway worker was moving pipes that take away human waste from the toilet systems on trains, when he was exposed to the waste through a split seam of a pair of fabric safety gloves.

Firm fined after worker suffers back injury

A toolsetter for a car parts manufacturer has made a successful work injury claim, with the help of his trade union.

The fifty-seven-year-old man, from Walsall, was working for Wagon Industries at the time of the incident and suffered a painful back injury after fitting a four-foot long beam to reinforce a car bumper.
