Schoolchild compensated after suffering dog attack

A young child has won an injury claim following a serious bite from an escaped dog.

The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was out in a public place when he came across the animal that was neither on a lead nor with its owner.

Not aware of the immediate danger, the young school child began stroking the Alsatian, however this made the animal turn on him and the boy found himself being bitten, which caused him to fall to the ground.

Factory worker compensated after suffering crush injuries

A soft drinks firm has had to pay out a substantial amount of personal injury compensation, after one of its employees suffered crush injuries to his hand.

Sixty-five-year-old Keith Boyer, who lives near the Lutterworth area, had been working for Britvic Soft Drinks in Rugby, when the incident took place.

Mr Boyer, who has worked for Britvic for 12 years, was helping a colleague to fix the broken machine that is used to make glass bottles, when his left hand became trapped.

Firm fined after worker’s fingers severed in bubble wrap machine

A work injury claim has been made against international manufacturer, Sansetsu, after a worker lost three fingers in a bubble wrap machine.

Twenty-nine-year-old Daniel Winters, from Leighton Buzzard, made an injury claim, after his right hand became caught on an in-running nip, trapping it between two powered rollers.

Mr Winters had been cleaning debris from the machine when the incident, which took place at a Buckinghamshire factory, occurred. The machine was running at the time, with the plastic material inside reaching more than 200 degrees centigrade.

Personal injury compensation for Mesothelioma worker

The personal injury solicitor firm Thompsons has successful managed to claim compensation for a worker who was exposed to compensation dust.

The work injury claim came about after the client was diagnosed with mesothelioma after going to his GP after he was feeling breathless. He was quickly referred to a specialist consultant for a chest x-ray and blood test. Unfortunately the results showed there was fluid on his lung. A sample of the fluid was taken and further analysis revealed the presence of cancer cells.
